During our private beta, all features are free. No credit card. No trial expiration. No surprise charges.

We email beta participants 30 days before paid plans begin, with a clear "stay or leave" option.

2. Founder plan — for everyone who joins during beta

$6.99 per month · or $59.99 per year (save 28%)

This is the rate beta participants pay for as long as they remain subscribed. We commit to never raising it for Founder tier members.

Includes everything in the Standard plan (full features list below).

3. Standard plan — for new sign-ups after the first 12 months

$7.99 per month · or $89.99 per year (save 6%)

This rate applies to anyone signing up roughly 12 months after public launch. We'll announce the exact transition date by email at least 30 days in advance.

Both tiers include:

• Full symptom database (50,000+ patterns)
• Personalized dog profile (breed, age, weight, history, vaccination tracking)
• Photo journal with vet-shareable PDF export

4. What's not included — and why we're upfront about it

We are deliberately narrow. VetScan is a triage assistant, not a full veterinary platform. We do not offer:

• Live vet chat — for that, we recommend Pawp ($24/mo) or Airvet ($40/visit)
• Pet insurance — separate product category; we don't sell it and don't take commissions
• Prescription medication — your vet handles this
• Food or supplement recommendations — too risky without your vet's input

If you need any of the above, we'll tell you directly inside the app, with links to legitimate alternatives.

5. Why $6.99 for Founder tier

Three reasons:

• One avoided ER visit pays for the Founder plan for many years. The average emergency vet visit in the US is $400-$1,500. If VetScan helps you confidently skip even one unnecessary trip, the math works for a decade.
• Beta participants take a real risk on us. The product isn't fully proven yet. Founder pricing is how we say thank you for that risk — permanently.
• We need committed early users to learn from. Founder pricing attracts dog parents who plan to use the product seriously, not casually.

We do not run ads, sell user data, or take commissions on referrals. Subscription is the entire business model.

• Cancel anytime, from your account settings
• No "are you sure?" loops, no email confirmations required, no retention specialists
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle

8. Refunds

• 14-day money-back guarantee — no questions asked, full refund within 14 days of any purchase
• After 14 days, contact hello@vetscan.app for case-by-case review (we are reasonable)
• Annual plans: pro-rated refund for unused full months within the first 60 days

10. Frequently asked pricing questions

What does "locked for life" mean? If you sign up at the Founder rate during beta and remain subscribed continuously, your monthly or annual rate stays the same — even when we raise prices for new sign-ups. This is a written commitment in our Terms.

What if I cancel and resubscribe later? If you cancel and let the subscription lapse, then resubscribe later, you re-enter at whatever rate is current at that time. Founder rate is for continuous subscribers only.

When will Standard pricing kick in for new sign-ups? Approximately 12 months after public launch. We'll announce the exact date by email at least 30 days in advance and post it publicly on this page.

Will the Standard price ever go up? Possibly, in future years. If it does, anyone already on Founder or Standard tier keeps their original price as long as they remain subscribed continuously.

Is there a free tier after beta? The emergency-triage flow stays free forever for everyone. The full app (history, photo journal, profiles, reminders, vet finder) requires a paid plan.

Do you accept gift subscriptions? Not yet. Planned for late 2026.

Discounts for vet techs, shelter staff, military, or students? Yes — additional 30% off Founder or Standard rate with verification. Email hello@vetscan.app.

Can I upgrade from monthly to annual mid-cycle? Yes. The remaining value of your monthly subscription is credited toward the annual plan.
